Ronald Corp, conductor, composer and priest, died in Bath, England on Wednesday 7 May, aged 74. He was responsible for quite a number of recordings of unsung music, including MacFarren's Robin Hood (2011, Naxos), Boughton's The Queen of Cornwall (Dutton, 2010), Pierné's piano concerto (Hyperion, 2002), for example.
Also a conductor of many enjoyable recordings of light classical music, plus his own Cello Concerto, Piano Concerto and Symphony, and a long list of instrumental, vocal and choral music, and a number of significant orchestrations. A sad loss.
