Good to see the piano trio finally get its commercial premiere
Assuming the apparently unavailable 1993* Canadian Trio recording was not, likewise, or even if this is only its second commercial recording, I think more than highly enough of the work to believe two commercial recordings in 30 years is nowhere near enough but still welcome this!!
*Well, recorded in 1993, released in 1996.
This is probably the same performance, or one created directly before or after, as the one in the downloads forum (https://www.unsungcomposers.com/forum/index.php/topic,8270.msg86507.html#msg86507).
Very pleased indeed that we have a new recording of the Piano Trio as the sound on the previous one was a bit thin and wiry. I think it is a good work.
I made a comparison with Paul Wee in the finale of the PC - and Triendl clearly doesn't take it as quickly, but I imagine there won't be any controversy over the orchestral accompaniment or recording. I note, by the way, that the conductor, Eugene Tzigane, is the same as on the Hyperion recording.
Tangentially, while I see nothing by Bronsart scheduled this coming season, lieder by his wife are scheduled in two concerts in 2026.
