I suspect that a number of members here will have enjoyed the selection of orchestral works, together with the Requiem, issued over the years by Sterling. Most of Lindberg's later music was choral and included a large number of occasional cantatas written for local anniversary celebrations ( a splendid Swedish tradition which I doubt still is maintained ???).

M. Henriksen

A little contribution to the translation of some of Lindberg's works:

De dödas ö, Op. 2 should be translated to The Island of the Dead.
Sömnens slott, Op. 5 - The Castle of Sleep (or something like that..)
Op. 15 is Jungfru Maria.
Op. 22 Längtan är min arvedel - Longing is my heritage
Op. 32 Per Spelman han spelte - Fiddler Per, he played. This is a title with a reference to a folk-song about Per who swaps his only cow for a fiddle. A deal he is very happy with, stating that he would never get rid of the fiddle.
Op. 40 Sång til hembygden - Song to my home village
Op. 52 - Mitt land - My Country

You are very welcome! I hope we'll see more of Lindberg's music on record, especially a modern recording of Från de stora skogarna would be very welcome.
