Alone/Shostakovich A new remastering from Delos

While Shostakovich is far far from the unsung category some of his film work is. This was his first effort to a sound film in 1931. While I've never seen the film it seems to be another propoganda tool from Stalin. Shostakovich as many of you already know didn't like doing film but he needed food for his family and somehow I think Stalin had a bit of influence. His writing is superb and if you compare this to other efforts in 1931 it is ahead of anything the US attempted. From what I was told from Delos they will be releasing the Russian Disc series from 1995 during this year.
