Bellini - Adelson e Salvini

There is to be a concert performance of Bellini's Adelson e Salvini.  This is a joint venture between Opera Rara and the BBC Symphony Orchestra.  Though written while Bellini was still a student, the indulgent, ardent and lyrical melodies are typical of Bellini.  Sounds like a good evening.  There will be a recording of this, to be issued later in the year.  Venue; Barbican, London  date; 11 May 2016

Nice to hear this :-) There is still a Nuova Era recording, with an excellent cast, made at the Teatro Bellini in Catania in 1992... On the same label, you can also find Bellini's "Bianca e Ferando" and "Zaira".
