Eva was the youngest daughter¹ of Henry Spalding and his second wife Ellen.  He is described as a paper merchant and was clearly prosperous as they had several servants.  Eva studied music at the Royal Academy of Music, London.  She remained unmarried.  She is a somewhat obscure figure, though she gets a brief mention in Cobbetts.  She was a close contemporary of Susan Spain-Dunk and Ethel Scarborough.

I have found it very difficult to find further information about Eva.  Much more is known about her siblings.  She was born while the family resided at 4 Manor Road, Blackheath. There was no probate on her estate which suggests she had very little to leave.  She took a cruise to Las Palmas in 1930 and that is all I know. If anyone has any further information about her music or even a photograph I would like to hear from them.
