The sonata is middle romantic stuff, the first theme of the first movement even feels classical, exuberant more than dramatic, which is somewhat out of sync with the rest.

Unlikely, with performances of Herbststücke, Nordische Phantasie and Thüringer Ouverture in 1905 and 1906 and the sonata in 1917.
