Gosh and this was only promised back in 2015......  Better late than never.

I'm curious to know what you folks expect of this young, talented composer/musician as she "matures:???

I expect we'd like it to be beautiful, melodic, romantic but it must never sound like it's derived from anyone elses earlier work?   Damned tall order, even for a young prodigy who can orchestrate a violin concerto or an opera.

I'm with you, Alma - take your music where your heart tells you to.  For most of us, that's what music is about......

Indeed yes.....

Didn't anyone record this?

I hope someone will be kind enough to record it.   I'll be on the road.

I have the 2nd Sonata on a cassette which is buried in my storage room.  I just keep hoping that someone here has imported the Japanese CD that isn't available here.

I'm still waiting for someone to post the Violin Sonatas somewhere - YouTube, anywhere.......

Do they have an archive or do you have to grab from the live broadcast.  I found the "tracklist" but it only plays about 30 seconds.

The Overture and Symphonic Fantasy can be heard on NML if you do a bit of searching.

I recorded it streaming and so had the privilege of hearing the whole thing.   My initial reaction is, it's very long and non stop singing.  And frankly not terribly memorable.

Composers & Music / Re: Unsung Organ Repertoire
Saturday 10 March 2018, 16:27
Here's a way to sample some if not unsung, surely unknown, organ composers.  Using google Chrome, put in a name such as Gustav Merkel.  Open a new tab in YouTube and paste his name and you'll get a list of his copositions that are out there.   When youre done with him, go back to the previous tab and right below the bio info you'll see "People Also Search For" and to the right you'll see "view 15+ more"'  Click on that, the screen refreshes and near the top wil be pictures of many similar (usually) composers.  And you're off and running.

Composers & Music / Re: Franz Xaver Gebel

Interesting.  If you look up Gebel in the composer list at NML, he doesn't exist.  But check out Profil label and then the  'G's you find the two cds.
