Between what was uploaded and what is on Youtube, we now have just over 90  minutes of music from this fantastic unsung!

There is no way that express how grateful I am for this site. Allan and Marks work has paid dividends to all who love music and have provided me with my major source of new music to listen to these part few years.

Most of what I could say has already be said multiple times by the posters to this thread. The one thing that I can add is to say that whatever mark and Allan decide, I for one will be grateful for whatever direction that they feel that this site goes in, so long as it stays alive.

Probably the most interesting discovery of a sung composer is to be found in the reconstruction of the finale of Bruckner's symphony #9.  I was frankly astonished at how much of the supposedly fragmentary finale actually existed!  The introduction to the "final revised edition" of the finale makes fascinating reading! I have a copy of broadcast acetates of the 1941 Metropolitan opera broadcast of L'Amore with Montemezzi himself conducting a fairly stellar cast.  I am not sure however if this is something that is kosher to upload.

Thanks to John White for the recreation  of the lachner 6th.  It is wonderful to be able to hear such wonderful music.   

As thank you, if Mr. White is interested, I would be willing to use his score to recreate a performance using the Garritan orchestra.  All I would need would be MusicXML versions of the sibelius originals source files ( I use Finale 2010 to compose)  And  PDF of the score to correct any conversion errors. In return I would recontribute to the site Finale versions of the score along with performances in WAV and MP3 format using Finale 2010.

I'm not sure about "best" but certainly the most striking symphonies have come from the pen of Arthur Schnittke.  Especially striking for me is his Symphony #1 (1969-74), which  I can only say has to be heard to be believed!

Online purchases are especially compelling pricewise if you are just doing mp3 downloads. For instance I just paid $7.99 US for the downloads of the two Henk Badings symphonies CD's on CPO. The cheapest I can find the physical CD's for is $16.98 US.

I used to wax nostalgic about browsing for music, but the reality is that I'm getting older and the schlep over to the last record store left in the area where I work (Academy Records in NYC) is too far to be worth the possiility of coming back empty handed.
