Last year, I have an interest to start doing another symphony after Fock's 1st, so I have chosen Foerster's symphony as training material. Today I start revisiting the last movement, which was also the most effectively written, well-balanced and easy listening one.

4. Finale

P/S: This symphony was plagiarized as Hans Franke's "Symphony No. 4, Frühling im Tal der Müglitz"

Thank you.

An illustrated 128-page biography of "Hofkapellmeister Alban Förster" [note the spelling with umlaut] in German is still available as one of the publications of the Neuberin-Museum in Reichenbach im Vogtland, Germany:

Rohrmeier, Rudolf:  Der Hofkapellmeister Prof. Alban Förster – Ein Reichenbacher Musiker im Spiegelbild seiner Zeitgenossen. - 2012. - Band 30. - ISBN 978-3-932626-30-2

Thank you! I should perhaps point out that Franke added a fifth movement, "Idylle: die Stadt Glashütte" to Förster's symphony between the Scherzo and the Finale. That one we haven't identified yet.

The Idyll looks a little familiar among things I've been browsing recently, I wonder why?...

Yes, it's been wracking me as well, I KNOW I've seen that before. If only my music reading skills were less rubbish.
